The Diva Weekly Challeges #287 & #286

This week on the Diva Challenge is a Use My Tangle challenge featuring Dreamcatcher by Daniel Lamothe

It is so simple, but offers so many possibilities!
Here are my three attempts, all done in one evening, and I think I haven't finished yet. It's only a beginning.
A filler, a grid (reticulum) or a string filled with other patterns - so many things to try and to play with. I feel like I am caught by this Dreamcatcher and stay with it for some (long) time ))).

The other tanglers' results you will find here.

Ghosts of Tangles Past - the Diva's Weekly Challenge #255 / Snowdrops & Drowsnops

The task of this week is to go back into your own archives and recreate a tile from your past with your present style. So here are my tiles from the past (December 2014) and from the present (February 2016):
Patterns used: Balloya, Fescu, Diva Dance, Nipa, Printemps & Ennies.
I'm not sure which one I like better, but the first tile I haven't got any more. So my attempt to recreate it was sort of nostalgic - but one can never enter the same river twice.

Snowdrops & Drowsnops

Yesterday in the newborn (15.02.2016) Facebook group "A Tangle Tip a Day" the focus of the day was "Snowdrops". I was not sure what it was (learned a new word!), so I had to google it:

In Russian this flower is called "podsnezhnik" = from under snow.

I played with this shape and came up with a new tangle "Drowsnops". This would be my second pattern, the first one is called "Ballehard" and is to be found in my Heart-shaped Tangle Patterns Inspirational Guide (I wrote about it in my previous post).
If you know, that pattern like this already exists, please leave me a note! And here is my Drowsnops zendala:

All those events happened yesterday and today on this grey and nasty morning look what I have found almost next to my door!

Thanks for stopping by! I am always happy to have your comments, so if you feel like doing it - please leave one!

Valentine's Day Tangles

I'm not a "hearts & flowers" person, and have never celebrated the Saint Valentine's Day.
To be true it is not in the tradition of Russian or Jewish culture, which both I belong to by birth and up-bringing. But I am always ready to participate in an interesting project.

This time it was "Valentangle-2016" designed offered and hosted by Marguerite Samama, CZT 16. Two weeks of full inspiration and creativity booster!

It resulted in 21 ZIAs (14 of them 15x15 cm gelli preprinted tiles) and 58 bijou-size monotangles, all arraged in the Heart-shaped Tangle Patterns Inspirational Guide:

This e-book contains 24 pages (A4) and includes alphabetically-ordered illustrated heart-shaped tangle patterns guide with more than 50 direct links to step-outs and tutorials, inspirational picture gallery, coloring pages and empty guide grid for you to print out and practice tangles on your own.

And here is my tile created for the Diva Challenge:

Muster Mixer # 12 (Narwal + 'Nzeppel)

This month's Muster Mixer Challenge offers us to mix together patterns 'Nzeppel and Narwal. Just like the author of this challenge CZT Anya Lothrope I have never used the pattern Narwal before, so I had to train first:

Narwal monotangle on black.
Narwal, Tipple and Florz on tan.

And below are my two attempts to mix the patterns.
Which one do you like best?
Totally white with shading.
(Without shading it is really hard
to distingwish between the two patterns)
Minimum shading,
but with black, gold and decoration.
Anyway the month has just begun and may be later I'll give it another try, as I did with the previous challenge (Crescent Moon + Facade) on the last day of October:

The string ("Trinity") I have used for this Zendala
is taken from Anya's new book "Zendalas. Der Einsteigerkurs".

I love the book, as well as two previous -
(also available in English) and
the first one revealed me the world of Zentangle® and
brought me to tangling in the first place,
and I have never given Zendala a try
before I opened the third one!
These books inspire and stir your imagination, so if enjoy this art form and can read German all of them are "must have" in your Zentangle® library.

That's all for now. All my previous and future entries for the Muster Mixer Challenge  you can find on my Pinterest Board and my new Zendala album you can find on Facebook. Thank you for stopping by and having patience to read my blog, I hope for and look forward to your comments!

P.S. And don't forget to check all the other entries for the challenge (they are wonderful!) and even participate yourself (if you haven't yet) here.

And here are some of my works:

The very first try

On a coaster
Neon colors on a black tile

And finally my contribution to the Challenge:

"Gourdgeous in a circle"

The Diva Weekly Challege #240: Birthday Leaves!

It's autumn and the Diva Challenge this week offers us to be inspired by the season.

I have already been playing with the autumn leaves on the weekend, preparing for the workshop I do with 6-12 year old girls in our Jewish Community Center every Sunday. Below are  some pictures from the last workshop and results of my further experiments.

"Leaf Printing"

Cards that my girls did.
Materials and samples prepared for the workshop
Colour splash
After the workshop I went on with "leaf printing":
Colored pencils on white acrylic paint
Colored pencils on golden acrylic paint
Silber and gold
White, silber and gold

\Silber with a hint of color

All the variety of leaves in color...

...and white, silber and gold.

At the end I thought:

"If I can use leaves as stamps,
why not use them also as stencils with airbrush?"

So I airbrushed my artist journal page,

and my DIY calender page.

That was on Sunday evening, and on Tuesday... guess what?

More pictures of my "leaf printing" you can find on Facebook or on Pinterest.

I would like to thank everyone for visiting my blog, all your comments are truely appreciated!
